I was hoping you could comment on the PRP treatment that tennis star Rafael Nadal is currently undergoing.

A description of part of this treatment is reported here:
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/27/sports/tennis/27nadal.html?_r=2

Can you comment on a couple of things:

1. Nadal had at most 7-9 days between receiving his injection and resuming play in professional level tournaments. Is this a prudent course of action?

2. Nadal states that he could have one knee done at the time. Is there any medical reason why one couldn't treat both knees at the same time?

I ask these questions, because another tennis player, James Blake, also received PRP treatment on his knees and he speaks about a much more prolonged recovery period and far different experience.

His describes his treatment here:
http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/news/interviews/2010-06-22/201006221277223462866.html

I'd appreciate any insight you could offer on this.

Regards.JTnoreply@blogger.com
